Privacy Policy

PickleBoard is a Watch-first pickleball scoreboard. We don't track you and we don't sell data — period. This page tells you what the app does collect, where, and why.

1. Information We Don't Collect

PickleBoard does not run a third-party analytics SDK. We don't have a server collecting your usage. We don't sell or share data with advertisers. There is no user account, no email signup, and no telemetry.

2. Microphone & Audio

The voice score announcement feature uses Apple's on-device speech synthesizer (AVSpeechSynthesizer). Audio is generated locally and played through the Watch's speaker — nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted off your device. PickleBoard does not request microphone permission.

3. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you grant permission, PickleBoard logs your pickleball games as Apple Health workouts on your Watch — start and stop time, duration, and Apple's standard estimated calorie reading. The workout is written to your local Health database; it is never sent to a server we control. You can revoke HealthKit permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

4. Location & Weather

If you enable Match Stats in Settings, PickleBoard captures your location at game-end (once per game) using Apple's CoreLocation API in When in Use mode. The location is used only to look up local weather conditions via Apple WeatherKit and to attach a city or region label to the match record. Both location and weather data are stored on-device only — they are never sent to a server we control.

You can deny or revoke Location permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Match Stats functionality degrades gracefully when permission is denied — score, mode, target, and timeouts are still captured.

6. App Group Shared Storage

PickleBoard uses an Apple App Group container (group.com.ifthendev.pickleboard) to share live game state between the iPhone app and the Watch app. This is local-device storage on your Apple devices — Apple's WatchConnectivity framework is the only mechanism that moves data between your iPhone and Watch, and that traffic is end-to-end encrypted by Apple.

7. Subscriptions & Purchases (RevenueCat)

The optional Pro in-app purchase is processed by Apple. PickleBoard uses RevenueCat to manage entitlement state across your iPhone and Watch. RevenueCat may collect anonymous purchase identifiers as part of providing this service. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy for details.

App Store payments are handled entirely by Apple. PickleBoard never sees your payment method.

8. Children's Privacy

PickleBoard is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect any personal information from users of any age. The app does not have a sign-up, login, or chat surface.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and bump the Last Updated date below. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store What's New release notes for the corresponding update.

Terms of Use

By installing and using PickleBoard, you agree to the following terms.

1. Intended Use

PickleBoard is a pickleball scoreboard app intended for casual and recreational play. It is not a tournament management system, an officiating tool, or an authoritative source for tournament-level scoring decisions.

2. Refunds

Refund requests for the Pro in-app purchase are handled by Apple under their standard refund policy. Use Apple's Report a Problem page to request a refund.

3. Intellectual Property

The PickleBoard app, name, mark, and brand assets are owned by If Then Dev, LLC. The Apple Watch and iPhone marks are property of Apple Inc.

4. License

Your use of PickleBoard is governed by the standard Apple Standard End User License Agreement.

5. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

PickleBoard is free to download. Pro features (Live Activity, voice announcements, match stats, share card) are unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase. The Pro purchase is associated with your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed into the same Apple ID via the Restore Purchase action in Settings.

6. Data Accuracy

Weather and location data are provided by Apple WeatherKit and CoreLocation respectively; their accuracy is not guaranteed. PickleBoard is not responsible for any missed points, incorrect scores, or disagreements that occur during informal play. Always defer to a human referee in officiated games.

7. Limitation of Liability

PickleBoard is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. If Then Dev, LLC is not liable for any incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the app, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
