How to Score a Game

Baseball & Softball Scoreboard keeps the board simple: big, glanceable numerals you can read one-handed from the dugout. Tap to add runs, advance the count, and move through the innings.

Runs, count & innings

1. Tap a team's score to add a run.
2. Tap the ball, strike, and out indicators to advance the count. Three outs flips the half-inning.
3. The inning indicator tracks the top and bottom half automatically as outs accumulate.

Undo & edit

Tapped the wrong button? Use Undo to step back the last action, or tap a value to correct the score or count directly — no menu-diving, so you can fix a miscount before the next pitch.

Runs, Hits & Errors (R-H-E)

The classic R-H-E line is available on the board so you can track runs, hits, and errors for each team alongside the inning-by-inning score.

Top & bottom of the inning

The board shows which half-inning you're in. The visiting team bats in the top; the home team bats in the bottom. Outs roll the half over automatically.

Edit or correct a saved game

Every game is saved automatically. Open any saved game to correct the team names, score, count, inning, hits, errors, and even the date it was played, or add a note — then tap Mark as Final when it's over. Sort your saved games, or delete the ones you no longer need, from the Saved Games list. (All free.)

Share a scorecard

Tap Share to send a clean, branded score card — score, inning, and R-H-E — straight to Messages, AirDrop, or social. It works from the live board and from the game editor, and the image carries a scannable App Store code.

Tip: Your game is saved on-device automatically. If you put your phone away mid-inning, the score is exactly where you left it when you come back.

Pro & Purchases

Baseball & Softball Scoreboard is free to download and score with. Pro unlocks the premium features and removes ads. You can choose the option that fits how you use the app.

Lifetime vs Season Pass

• Lifetime — a single, one-time purchase. Pay once and keep Pro forever, with no recurring charge.
• Season Pass — an annual subscription. A good fit if you'd rather pay per season; it renews each year unless you cancel.

What Pro unlocks

• Live Activity & Dynamic Island — the live score on your Lock Screen and notch.
• Home & Lock Screen widgets — the current or final score, a glance away.
• Unlimited Cast to Apple TV — put the live board on the big screen (your first 2 games are free).
• Ad-free — removes the ads shown in the free version.

Stadium mode, Siri, the Apple Watch app, sharing a scorecard, per-game notes, and full saved-game editing are all free for everyone — Pro adds the Lock Screen and Home Screen surfaces above, unlocks unlimited Cast to Apple TV (after 2 free games), and removes ads.

Restoring your purchase

Already bought Pro and switching to a new device? Open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID, your Pro unlock comes right back.

Refunds

Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Use Apple's Report a Problem page to request a refund.

Live Activities, Widgets & Siri

Live Activities and widgets are Pro; Siri works on the free version too. Together they keep the score in front of you without opening the app — on the Lock Screen, the Home Screen, and hands-free with Siri.

Live Activity & Dynamic Island

During a game, Baseball & Softball Scoreboard can pin the live score to your iPhone Lock Screen as a Live Activity, and to the Dynamic Island on supported iPhones. Glance down to see the score, inning, and count without unlocking — long-press the Dynamic Island for the expanded view.

1. Unlock Pro to enable Live Activities.
2. Make sure Live Activities are allowed in Settings → Baseball & Softball Scoreboard.
3. Start scoring a game — the Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

Home & Lock Screen widgets

Add a widget to keep the score one glance away. While a game is live the widget shows the current score; once the game ends it shows the final.

1. Long-press an empty area of your Home Screen (or your Lock Screen) until it enters edit mode.
2. Tap the + (Home Screen) or a widget slot (Lock Screen).
3. Search "Baseball & Softball Scoreboard" and pick the size you want.

Siri

Siri works on the free version. Ask Siri to "start a new game with Baseball & Softball Scoreboard," or ask "what's the score in Baseball & Softball Scoreboard?" — and keep your hands on the rail.

Tip: Live Activities and widgets are Pro features. Unlock Pro once (Lifetime) or per season (Season Pass) to turn them on. Siri and Stadium mode are free for everyone.

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch app is free for everyone — no Pro required. Keep score right on your wrist, and it stays in sync with your iPhone both ways.

Set up the Watch app

1. Install Baseball & Softball Scoreboard on your iPhone.
2. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, find Baseball & Softball Scoreboard, and tap Install — or turn on Automatic App Install so Watch apps install alongside their iPhone app.
3. Open Scoreboard on your Apple Watch and start scoring.

Score from your wrist

Tap to add runs and advance the ball-strike-out count, right from the Watch. It's the same game as your iPhone — score from whichever is handier.

Put the score on your watch face

Add a complication to keep the live score a glance away on your wrist:

1. Touch and hold your watch face, then tap Edit.
2. Swipe to the complications screen and tap a slot.
3. Choose Baseball & Softball Scoreboard, press the Digital Crown, and tap the face to save.

Keep iPhone & Watch in sync

Score on the iPhone or the Watch and both stay in step — score, inning, and the ball-strike-out count. New Batter, New Game, and End Game sync across both. Keep your paired iPhone and Watch nearby for the quickest updates.

Tip: The Apple Watch app is free — no Pro needed. If a watch-face complication ever looks behind, open the app on your Watch once to refresh it (watchOS limits how often complications update on their own).

Cast to Apple TV

Put the whole board on your Apple TV — score, inning, half-inning, the ball-strike-out count, both team names, and R-H-E — big enough to read from the couch, updating live as you score on your iPhone. Your first 2 games are free; after that, unlimited Cast to Apple TV is part of Scoreboard Pro.

This isn't AirPlay. You turn casting on inside the app's Settings — not from Control Center — and you're not mirroring your phone screen. Your iPhone stays the scorebook; the Apple TV is the big-screen display.

Turn on Cast to Apple TV

1. Install Baseball & Softball Scoreboard on your Apple TV — open the App Store on the Apple TV and get it (it's the same app).
2. Put your iPhone and Apple TV on the same Wi-Fi network.
3. In Scoreboard on your iPhone, open Settings and turn on Cast to Apple TV.
4. On your Apple TV, open Scoreboard and pick your game with the Siri Remote — the board jumps to the big screen.

What shows on the TV

The Apple TV board shows your live game — score, inning, top/bottom, the ball-strike-out count, both team names, and the R-H-E line. When the score moves on your iPhone, it moves on the TV a beat later.

Good to know

• Your first 2 games cast free; unlimited casting is part of Scoreboard Pro. The Apple Watch app stays free.
• Your iPhone and Apple TV just need to be on the same Wi-Fi — there's no account and no login.
• The first time your Apple TV connects, it may ask permission to find devices on your local network. Allow it — that's how it receives the live score.

Data, Privacy & Support

Baseball & Softball Scoreboard is built to keep your data on your device. If Then Dev does not collect personal data, run analytics, or store your games on a server.

Where your games live

Your scores and saved games are stored on-device, in an App Group container shared with the widgets and Live Activity. There's no account, no login, and nothing uploaded to If Then Dev.

Ads & tracking

The free version shows ads through AppLovin MAX and its ad-network partners. Some ad data — including your device advertising identifier (IDFA) — is only used if you allow it via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change that choice anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or remove ads entirely by unlocking Pro. Ads and tracking are in the free iPhone app only — the Apple Watch and Apple TV apps show no ads and include no tracking. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
